AWS Unveils Sweeping AI Agent Upgrades: Quick Desktop App, Four New Connect Solutions Reshape Enterprise Operations

AWS unveils AI agent upgrades including Quick desktop app and four specialized Amazon Connect solutions, shifting enterprise operations from reactive to proactive.

Breaking: AWS Unleashes Next-Generation AI Agent Suite

AWS CEO Matt Garman today revealed a dramatic expansion of the company's AI agent capabilities, launching a new desktop app for its AI assistant Quick and introducing four specialized solutions under Amazon Connect. The announcements, made at the What's Next with AWS event, signal a major shift from standalone AI tools to deeply integrated, workflow-specific agents.

"This is not just about adding AI—it's about reimagining how every function within a business operates," said Garman. "We're giving customers AI teammates that learn, adapt, and take action within their existing systems."

Quick Desktop App: AI Assistant Without the Browser

The new Amazon Quick desktop app, now in preview, lets users manage local files, calendars, and communications directly from their desktop without opening a browser. "We've removed the friction of constant tab-switching," explained Colleen Aubrey, SVP of Amazon Applied AI Solutions. "Quick becomes a seamless part of your workflow."

Starting today, users can sign up for either a Free or Plus pricing plan using personal email, Google, Apple, GitHub, or Amazon credentials—no AWS account needed. The Plus plan unlocks advanced features such as unlimited document generation and priority support.

Visual Assets on the Fly

Quick now generates polished documents, presentations, infographics, and images directly from chat, eliminating the need for design skills or hours of formatting. "A single prompt can produce a board-ready presentation," Aubrey noted. The feature is available today.

Expanded Integrations and Custom Apps

Quick's native integrations now include Google Workspace, Zoom, Airtable, Dropbox, and Microsoft Teams, broadening its reach across enterprise tools. Additionally, the Build custom apps with Quick preview enables users to create intelligent apps, dashboards, and web pages using natural language, all deeply connected to business data.

Amazon Connect Evolves into Four Agentic Solutions

AWS has transformed Amazon Connect from a single contact center product into a suite of four AI-driven solutions tailored to specific business domains. Amazon Connect Decisions optimizes supply chains, Talent revolutionizes hiring, Customer enhances support, and Health targets healthcare workflows.

Amazon Connect Decisions: Supply Chain Intelligence

This solution weaves 30 years of Amazon operational science with 25+ specialized supply chain tools. "Teams move from firefighting to strategic planning," said an AWS product lead. AI teammates adapt, learn, and continuously improve operations, reducing disruptions.

Amazon Connect Talent: AI-Powered Hiring (Preview)

Built for large-scale talent acquisition, Talent delivers AI-led interviews and science-backed assessments. "Recruiters hire high-quality candidates faster while reducing human bias," the company stated. Applicants get a flexible interview experience. Available in preview.

Amazon Connect Customer: Next-Gen Contact Center

Formerly called Amazon Connect, this solution now offers configurable conversational AI that can be set up in weeks. "Business executives can configure experiences without technical expertise," AWS emphasized. It operates across voice, chat, and digital channels.

Amazon Connect Health: Healthcare Workflows

Targeting healthcare providers, this solution streamlines patient engagement, appointment scheduling, and clinical workflows using agentic AI. Further details were limited at the event.

Background: AWS Doubles Down on Agentic AI

The announcements build on AWS's strategy to embed AI agents into core business functions rather than offering standalone chatbots. "Agents that act—not just answer—are the next frontier," said Julia White, CMO of AWS. The company has invested heavily in making these agents context-aware and action-oriented.

What This Means for Businesses

Enterprises can now deploy AI that autonomously manages supply chains, conducts interviews, and creates polished presentations—all within existing tools. "The line between human workers and AI teammates will blur," Garman predicted. For IT leaders, the ability to integrate without custom coding lowers barriers, while the new Quick desktop app competes directly with Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini.

The suite's specialized solutions also signal AWS's intention to dominate vertical AI markets—from healthcare to logistics. "This is a watershed moment for operational AI," concluded an industry analyst who spoke on background. "Businesses that don't adopt agentic workflows risk being left behind."
